Trip Reflections – Hong Kong 2016

It has been a long while since the last entry on the blog. Took a two-month hiatus, in search of my next phase in life direction. Though, I have come back to this blog…. It was a long journey between debating to continue writing or to stop writing altogether.

A recent trip to Hong Kong gave me some personal inspirations to continue to write what I love. I saw how articles put on the blog feels like a digital repository where we chronologically state what we see hear and feel. With our senses, that is how we and ourselves show up in the personality on this web space.

The internet of things shows many faces in life. The data that traverses around shows us what we do see and feel. That aside, now back to what I wish to reflect on. This trip of 5 days four nights in Hong Kong was an interesting one. It was my 4th trip to this Pearl of the Orient. But also, one that I stayed for a longer time doing nothing except for food and staying in the hotel.

So more on the hotel in another post, meanwhile, the location was a bit far out of town. It was at the New Territory area of the mainland. The reason I chose to stay at Courtyard by Marriott Shatin Hong Kong was the location and the price of the room rate being reasonable and big rooms. While the hotel has got a self-contained supermarket and food joint that serves meals till late.

However, the traveling time from the Shek Mun Station to Kowloon and other parts of HK is a bit of a torture about 40-60 minutes. Due to its location in the industrial area and requires switching at least 3 – 4 metro lines to reach the city. And partly the reason why I had decided just to stay in the room most of the time to reflect on my life. It prove to be a good trip. On the side note, I did manage to visit two temples nearby – Che Gong Temple & Wong Tai Sin Temple.

I also visited the Kennedy Town on Hong Kong Island now served by the MTR as well as Causeway Bay and Mongkok, walking along Nathan Road. The weather was kind to me too, if I had visited a week earlier, I would have met with the Typhoon. Was also in time to visit the HK Disneyland for the Halloween event.
