It seems like a trend picking up that ice cold desserts are transforming into cakes.
During my last trip to Kuala Lumpur back in August last year. A Friend of mine was telling me about dessert cakes in KL and Penang. Then some weeks ago, there was also another that talk about it. So happen that a few days ago, had a dessert session with a couple of friends at Dolce Tokyo, Bugis Junction and chance upon one of the cakes which had transformed itself from a local delight – Chendol cake.
We ordered three different desserts – Chendol Cake, Chocolate Molten Cake and Red Velvet cake. The Chendol cake tasted very much like the desert itself, with the drizzle of the Gula Melaka that taste superb.
As for the red velvet cake, it feels moist and just right. The pairing of chocolate molten cake with ice cream just could not go wrong – taste pretty much normal though to me.
This is one of the places I would drop in for dessert sometimes. It is usually quiet in the evening for both weekday and weekends. They are also currently running some promotions at 50% for the 2nd cake on Thursdays.
