While I was in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month, I visited the newly open Isetan – The Japan Store at Lot 10. This new store consists of 6 floors, each with a different area of interest and speciality. This new shopping concept by Isetan was launched in late October 2016 following a renovation of the existing Isetan store at Lot 10 in 2016.

There is also a JTB counter on this floor. There is a mini exhibition space on this floor too. During my visit, there was “The Darling of Tokyo Street Art: Yu Nagaba Solo Exhibition” going on.

4F – The Table (Restaurants)
This floor is pretty self-explanatory, where an array of Japanese restaurants line the entire floor. The food offerings by the restaurants on this floor are very premium priced, do check it out if you are into very authentic Japanese food when you are there.

It comes as a surprise to me how it was just a normal Isetan when I last visited KL as well as the mall back in August 2016, and now the entire store has been transformed. The new concept store design and interiors give off a very “atas” (which means up-market in Malay) feel to the entire space. As it is located next to the Bukit Bintang tourist belt, it is sure to be a crowd puller in the near future. However, as for now, it is pretty quiet in comparison to the nearby Pavilion Mall which has always been drawing in huge loads of crowd. Things may brighten up later this year when the new Klang Vallery MRT system begins passenger service with a direct access to the mall basement.
