STAR WARS DAY™: MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU 2017 Event @ Supertree Grove – Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

Star Wars Day 2017 - Singapore

It is the ‘STAR WARS DAY™: MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU ‘ – annual Star Wars Day celebration. For the whole of 2017, we will see more of Star Wars in Singapore as part of the Disney and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) initiatives to bring Disney theme events to Singapore.

Starting with the Star Wars theme this year, Disney and STB will bring in Marvel-themed events next year and Disney Animation/Disney Pixar-themed events the year after.

On May 4, which is marked as Star Wars Day, the collaboration will kick off with a three-day festival at Gardens By The Bay. The gardens’ Supertrees will be transformed into lightsabers, and it will be complemented with a light and music show. There will be character appearances and photo opportunities, with the event capping off with a themed night run and screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the race village.

Under the special 3 year arrangement, we will see each year feature a different set of Disney property. It will be interesting to see how the next few years open evolve with Marvel and Pixar Characters. While this year, the focus will be none other than Star Wars and the Star Wars Run taking place this weekend.

If you had missed out on the earlier registration for the run, you could still visit the event village over at Gardens By the Bay for the 3-day festival. As part of global ‘May the 4th’ celebrations and to mark the 40th anniversary since the release of Star Wars: A New Hope, a three-day extravaganza happening over these 3 days.
