Hotel Review: Courtyard by Marriott Sha Tin, Hong Kong (Deluxe Double Guest Room)

This is the 2nd time visiting the same hotel in 2 years. Did a recent room redemption during my Hong Kong trip. Decided to re-visit this Marriott Property due to the last minute decision to travel to Hong Kong. On first look, the room looks spacious, albeit smaller compared to the premier room. Every other thing else looks the same as before.

The Deluxe Guestroom is compact, while at the same time it allows for natural light to flow in thus there is not much of a need to switch on the lights during the daytime if you are working from the room.

Bathroom & Amenities

The bathroom comes with shower head and rain shower options. There is much more privacy in this bathroom layout as there is no need to blind down with the opaque set up compared to the Premier rooms.

The 24-hour gym located on Level 5 is rather spacious and well equipped. There is also the outdoor swimming pool which is open from April to October each year.

Nearby places to visit

Comparing to 2 years ago, there seem to be more eateries now open at the nearby mall outside Shek Mun MTR and there is really not much of a need to travel out. However, it is worthwhile to go to Wo Che Market or Shatin MTR if you are in the mood to check out the nearby shops within the vicinity.

Overall Experience

The nearby food and beverages options have increased over the past two years. With the upcoming central to Shatin link opening in 2019, it will make travelling more convenient between this stretch and travelling to TST. It is still not too bad to stay here if you don’t mind the travelling time once the inconvenience of changing trains is removed.
