Over the weekend in February, did a stay at The Westin Singapore for a quiet pleasant weekend getaway. To my surprise, got upgraded to a Premier King room. Indeed it was pleasant to be offered an upgrade as a Silver Elite member with Marriott BonVoy.
The room is quite big and offers ample space to roam. There is also the entertainment panel, a mini bar – which is sensor based; a single sofa chair, a floor to ceiling glass panel.
The bathroom comes equipped with standard bathroom toiletries, a separate rain shower and an oversized bathtub overlooking Shenton Way.
As a business hotel by Marriott, there are no executive lounges. In lieu of that, is a rooftop bar and a restaurant on the hotel lobby floor. There is however a rooftop pool and a 24 hours gym available.
If you are in the mood to visit the gym; but have left your gym attire at home, the hotel offers loan gym attire and gear at a nominal fee. It is also a good excuse to travel light. There are also public spaces within the hotel that is quite Instagram worthy apart from the bathtub – just like the big sofa area near the lift lobby.
The location of the hotel is located at the fringe of the CBD area. There are limited eateries located within the hotel vicinity, the nearest supermarket is located at Marina One, while the eateries are located at Marina Bay Sands and Lau Pa Sat.
