Food: Optimum Nutrition Yoghurt Protein Smoothie

For the first time in a very long while, I am writing about a recently discovered some off-the-shelves protein shake. While, some months back I have been on the breakfast smoothie routine.  You can purchase it online via iHerb too.

  • 130 Calories
  • 0 g Added Sugar
  • 1.0z oz / 464g (14 servings)

Verdict

This product is made with Greek Yogurt Protein Powder and Chia which provides muscle Support from Premium Protein blend. It makes for a good breakfast replacement for a hectic morning.

Quite an interesting protein shake on first look. Here is how it looks like from power to fluid. As the product is Gluten Free, it is more gut friendly for those who are Gluten intolerant. The added of chia helps in providing more dietary fibre to the morning and aids digestion.

The taste profile is very whey in nature, though the beetroot aftertaste seems rather strong. It is quite easy to mix – just add a scoop of Greek Yogurt Protein smoothie powder to a glass or shaker cup filled with 6-8 fl oz (175-225ml) of cold water or any beverage. Then stir or shakes for 20-30 seconds or until powder is dissolved. For myself, I decided to mix it with rice milk, meanwhile the floating granules are actually freeze dried strawberry granules.

Been on a simple weight loss regiment with 3-4 days of workout weekly to move my weight down from 67kg to 60kg. It is now 5 weeks and I have slide down by 2.5kg. The only activities I added was – Calorie tracking (MyFitnessPal), Swimming, Workout, Yoga and now adding this protein smoothie to my breakfast regime.
