Decided to do a short weekend stay in Renaissance JB again. This time, was allocated a Deluxe Bayview Room.
There has since been quite some changes to the neighbourhood. As for this stay, spend most of my time in the property, decided to check out some shops around the vicinity. Check out my April weekend experience in JB here.
Meanwhile, the only difference between this room, the Club room and my initial stay at Renaissance JB room is the room allocated faces the golf course. I did a comparison of a day and night shot contrast. Similar to the one I did while I had my stay at Sheraton PJ in January.
The room size for Bayview and standard Deluxe room is the same. The only difference is the views available. Managed to get an early check in arranged via the Marriott Bonvoy app. As with my previous stay, I have requested for lavender pillow and buckwheat pillow. I ended up having 2 buckwheat pillow and no lavender pillow. So with a follow up call, was informed they will send it over later in the day – which they did. However, as it turns out, the lavender pillow isn’t the one that I had thought of (with dried lavender), and it just felt like 2 small pillows combined to form a pillow. So I rest my case that such pillow don’t exist at Renaissance Jb.
This property is becoming like a weekend Jb food haunt for me. As for planning a pillow run to clock status for Marriott Bonvoy program within Singapore, this would be the next best hotel to do other than Four Points by Sheraton Riverview Singapore. However, if you are residing in Malaysia, KL has much better and fairer priced Marriott properties worth considering for pillow runs.
