Food: Straits Café, Rendezvous Hotel (Singapore)

Decided to check out the Dinner buffet at Straits Cafe, Rendezvous Hotel. The menu changes everyday, however, the main draw is the Durian desserts and the Nonya theme offering, and best of all it is a Halal certified establishment.

Some of the highlights is the live cooking stations and DIY stations where you can get to either DIY your own food (simple prep – Kueh Pie Tie and Rojak) or the Noodle Station (Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun or Nonya Laksa).

Another of my favourite in the buffet line offering is the fresh and cooked seafood. There is fresh snow crab and lobsters available on weekends. Also there is the double boiled soup section for soup lovers.

Overall it is a hit or miss buffet line. As I have the HSBC Entertainer App – which allows for a 1 for 1 dining experience, it was quite worthwhile to check out the food offerings. Albeit it was a bit limited, however the durian and fresh seafood does helps compensate for the full price of the buffet line. The menu refreshes itself seasonally, so do check their website for the latest menu and pricing.
