Hotel Review: Renaissance JB, Malaysia (Deluxe Room – Corner)

I won’t really term this a review. It is more of new ways to look at hotel stays. For one, this was an unintended visit – partly due to me going there to make a spectacles + other too good to miss reasons to clock this stay (double night credit and double take promotion).

The rooms pretty compact – won’t really say it is huge, but I adore it for it is facing the east (can catch sunrise) and the unblocked view of the neighbourhood. The cosy room has a nice day sofa – something which I believe is only found in the corner rooms. Which is in lieu of the usual big so far chair with leg rest. There is only a limited number of such rooms on each floor – 1 to 2 at the maximum.

Nearby Amenities

The hotel is located about 5km proximity to the the Mid Valley South Key, it is a good location to stay while doing your shopping there with either the free hotel shuttle service or simply take Grab.

Notable mentions

It seems the hotel has improved since the last stay. There is now slightly better evening turndown service – Photo below; as well as improvement in the breakfast dining experience I had. Also, it is possible to add on Breakfast at RM 68 (currently they have an in-house promotion at RM40) or opt for Club Lounge access at RM140. Personally, I would not go for RM140 for lounge access, as i find it will be more worthwhile with booking the Club Rooms. For this stay, I took the RM40 breakfast add-on as I felt it will be nice to revisit the Breakfast at Cafe BLD, which to my surprise, the hotel management did take the feedback seriously and came up with a unique reservation stick with the printed words – “occupied” and “not occupied”.
