Planning for retirement – endowment plans

Few months ago I was sold the idea of annuity plans. I went to take a look and it felt more like endowment plans which I had since very young. It kept me wondering if it would make sense to buy into an endowment plan or should I stick with going for unit trust, REITs and equities investing which I have been quite accustomed to so far.

Truth be told, at the moment of writing I have no idea what will be my decision a yet. I have explored Supplementary Retirement Scheme which I am still thinking of. At the same time I also looking into annuity plans – but not too sure if that will be useful – they invests in Singapore bonds for the Long term yield.

In the Long term everyone is looking to retire comfortably and exploring various methods to do so. It is to be seen whether what works for you may or may not work for me. At the end of the journey; a passive income is just one aspect to look at the whole wealth generation and accumulation cycle.
